Asheville Mass Shooting Leaves Two Dead, Several Injured on Biltmore Avenue

Two people have died and several others were injured following a mass shooting in downtown Asheville, North Carolina, early Sunday morning, prompting an extensive investigation by the Asheville Police Department.

The deadly shooting occurred at approximately 2:20 a.m. in the area of Biltmore Avenue, where officers responded to reports of multiple gunshots. Adrian Reeves, who was inside Dalton Distillery at the time, told WYFF News 4 that patrons and staff immediately sought shelter after hearing the gunfire. According to Reeves, people were quickly ushered inside and directed behind the bar and other protected areas until the danger had passed.

The shooting has sent shockwaves throughout the Asheville community, raising renewed concerns about public safety and gun violence. Residents and business owners are mourning the loss of life while hoping investigators can quickly identify those responsible and bring justice to the victims and their families.

At this time, no arrests have been announced, and authorities have not released the identities of the deceased victims pending notification of their next of kin.
