Jayden Dalke Accident; Returns to Saskatchewan Roughriders After Recovering from Hand Injury

**The Saskatchewan Roughriders have welcomed back veteran linebacker and special teams contributor Jayden Dalke, who is set to return to action after recovering from a hand injury that sidelined him for three games.**

**Dalke sustained the injury to his left hand during Saskatchewan’s regular-season opener against the B.C. Lions on June 13. The setback forced the 30-year-old to miss several weeks while he focused on rehabilitation and worked toward receiving medical clearance.**

**Although being away from the field was frustrating, Dalke remained actively involved with the team throughout his recovery. He continued supporting his teammates from the sidelines while maintaining his preparation for an eventual return.**

**One of the most difficult moments during his rehabilitation came when the Roughriders traveled to face the Ottawa REDBLACKS without him. Dalke admitted it was challenging to watch his teammates leave for the road trip while he continued recovering.**

> **“Having to watch everybody leave for Ottawa, that one stung a little bit,” Dalke said while reflecting on his recovery.**

**Despite not knowing whether he would be medically cleared in time, Dalke’s parents, Ryan and Shannon Dalke, made the trip from Leduc, Alberta, to Ottawa to support both their son and the Roughriders. The family has been a constant presence throughout Jayden’s CFL career, attending games whenever possible.**

**After receiving medical clearance, Dalke expressed excitement about returning to the field and contributing once again. During practices leading up to his return, he wore a protective cast on his injured hand, along with additional padding and athletic tape designed to protect the injury while allowing him to play.**

**Rather than focusing on any limitations caused by the protective equipment, Dalke emphasized his desire to help his teammates however possible.**

> **“I love all these guys,” Dalke said, highlighting the strong bond he has developed with teammates and coaches during his years in Saskatchewan.**

**Since joining the Roughriders, Dalke has earned a reputation as one of the club’s most dependable special teams players while also providing valuable depth at linebacker. His leadership, toughness, and willingness to contribute in multiple roles have made him a respected veteran within the organization.**

**His return gives Saskatchewan an experienced defender capable of making an immediate impact on both defense and special teams as the club continues its CFL campaign.**
