He served on the board of directors for the West Hartford Girls Soccer League, participated as a juniors division supervisor, and spent more than two decades serving on the Tournament Executive Committee for the Travelers Championship, a major PGA Tour event known for its charitable contributions across Connecticut.

His commitment to service extended into several other areas of community life. Shawn served as vice chairman of the West Hartford Environmental & Conservation Commission, was a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus, and was involved with the Jaycees, where he served in leadership roles and was recognized as a Jaycee Statesman.

Professionally, Shawn was highly respected in the financial services industry. He served as Head of Group Retirement Experience and Product Management for MML Investors Services LLC, bringing years of experience, leadership, and expertise to his work.

A graduate of Conard High School, Shawn later earned a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Connecticut and an MBA in Managing in the Global Economy from Excelsior University. His educational journey reflected his lifelong commitment to growth, learning, and professional excellence.
