Rotterdam, Netherlands: At least 15 people were injured, including one seriously, after two trams collided on the Erasmus Bridge in Rotterdam on Wednesday.

The Erasmus Bridge, a major landmark and transport route spanning the Maas River, was closed in both directions following the crash. Webcam footage showed one tram crashing into the rear of another, scattering debris and causing significant damage to both vehicles.

Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene, using stretchers and wheelchairs to evacuate the injured. Authorities initially reported 18 injuries but later revised the figure to 15. The seriously injured victim was taken to hospital.

Rotterdam’s public transport operator, RET, said it was “deeply shocked” by the incident and pledged to work with emergency services to determine the cause of the collision.
